Фермент, имеющийся во внутренней митохондриальной мембране, который катализирует образование АТФ из АДФ и ортофосфата.
Последовательность ферментов и белков на внутренних митохондриальных мембранах эукариотных клеток и клеточных мембранах прокариот. Цепь получает электроны или атомы водорода из реакций цикла трикарбоновых кислот. При прохождении электронов по цепи энергия сохраняется в форме АТФ с помощью окислительного фосфорилирования.
Два типа мембран митохондрий, отличающихся по структуре и составу.
Образование новых митохондрий делением уже существующей путём инвагинации внутренней мембраны.

Барьер, отделяющий цитоплазму клеток от окружающей среды. Состоит из двойного липидного слоя, в который встроены интегральные белки мембран; играет важнейшую роль в обмене веществ; служит осмотическим барьером клетки и контролирует поступление веществ внутрь клетки и из неё; в цитоплазматической мембране имеются механизмы активного транспорта и системы субстрат-специфичных пермеаз. Регулируемый транспорт веществ осуществляется через каналы.
